Play-Doh

I forgot how awesome Play-Doh is....yesterday I had such a fun afternoon with Abraham; We spent about 2 hours in the kitchen making all sort of food out of Play-Doh, while Abraham learned diffrent words in English.  I am teaching him words of the kitchen and he is having a hard time with knife & fork so we had fun using the knife and fork to make fun designs on our Play-Doh food.
Other than playing with kiddie toys, there is not much that is new.  Sharon is coming next week, which I am super excited about!!! Last Friday night I decided to brave the Somo nightlife by myself.....something that I am terrified of, haha.  My friends were either working or sick so I decided to go down to or usual bar, La Mar Salada, and see who I ran into.  I know the workers there now and know some of the regulars so it wasn't as nerve racking as it was when I tired to do it my 2nd week here.  It actually turned out to be a really fun night.  I ran into my friends brother and we had a fun time talking....he know no English, so it was really good for me to practice and improve my Spanish.  Then I had a wonderful walk home.....it was a beautiful night with a nearly full moon and for the first time in a week it wasn't raining so I was so happy to walk home.  The weather is becoming warmer, although right now its a little gloomy-but the nights have been warmer so Belen (one of my friends) & I are loving it-we were out Monday night and didn't even need jackets!!
burger anyone??
or kielbasa and sauerkraut?? (...the yellow blob is mustard)
Abraham having a great time

whew....what a weekend

Well....what to say, this weekend was crazy in a super fun way! I have been meeting my friends down in Somo almost everyday this past week....its really fun (and I get to practice my spanish), but it gets exhausting.  Friday night I babysat until about 1am, so Marcello & Belen picked me up afterwards and we went to Noja to go dancing.  We were only there for a few hours but had a lot of fun.  Saturday I helped Marije in the garden.  Friday we had spent 2 hours laying stone in the garden, but Miguel didn't like it so we had to pick it all up.  After that I met up with Belen and Marcello and we walked up to Latas and listened to another band, who played all English music so it was fun to sing along and have fun outside with everyone enjoying the great weather.  After Latas we drove out to Noja and spent a few hours dancing and having a great time! I finally got home around 7am and then I spent a wonderful Sunday sleeping and resting...it was wonderful! I really needed to catch up on sleep.....Spaniards apparently need very little sleep during the week and catch up on it on Sundays, lol.  I am super excited for June and July though because it is the beginning of summer and there are 5 birthdays to celebrate, so that will be really fun!

Spanish surf music

ready to go out!
So living near the beach....one that is famous for surfing....I guess I should have expected that there would be surf music.  Last night I went with Belen & Marcello to a bar/restaurant/house/hotel place called Latas.  It was really nice, it is farther from the center of Somo so its bigger and has more room to breath.  We hung out for a while then listened to a bad play....we were sort of skeptical at first, but I really enjoyed the music....sometimes they sounded very 'beach boys-y'.  I took some video.....not necessarily of thier best songs, but only when I remembered that maybe I should take some video to show my SoCal peeps what spanish surf music sounds like :)

Hello all,Well nothing too exciting has happened in the last week.  The weather is getting nicer...well warmer most days, although it poured on Monday.  My allergies have finally gone away which has been wonderful.  I got really tired of my eye swelling everyday :)  Well since I dont have any news I am just going to share some pictures.
This is what 10:30pm looks like-on one of my many night walks into Somo
