Yorkity York

So I am in York, UK right now visiting Sharon. She had a rowing competition this past Saturday, The White Rose Head. Her boat won 2st place for the women's 8 division. It has been a very busy few days. Got in on Friday after many hours of travelling and dealing with unhelpful airport and train station workers. But it was worth it when I finally arrived in York and met Sharon at the train station. On Saturday Sharon and I woke up at 6am so we could meet all the rowers at the boat club at 7:20am. Then Sharon and I hung out by the river in freezing weather drinking our coffee and waiting for a boat to crash so that Sharon's job would be useful. She was station at a bridge along the River Ouse to tell rowers to turn if they were going to go the wrong way during the race. But no one needed to be told to turn so we just hung out trying to stay warm. In the afternoon Sharon raced so we walked to the York Boat House and I waited there until they launched the boats then I walked to a bridge with Sharon's captain's friends. They were really fun, and just asked me all sorts of questions about California. Will's (one of the friends) first question to me was "So 90210....is that what it is really like?" haha, it was so fun!
